Just north of North Charleston is the suburb of Hanahan.  It’s a reasonably priced community that’s convenient to all of North Charleston’s shopping, dining and entertainment.  The are nice areas of older homes off of Rivers Ave and for those who like the newer style, there are neigborhoods like Tanner Plantation.  Tanner is the largest neighborhood in Hanahan and features subsections of many different prices ranges and styles.  

Hanahan is home to the Naval Power School where students learn the ins and outs of Nuclear power.
